AWRAQ ( Leaves)
-Work in progress-

In this new project, Hamza EL Alouani seeks to develop a poetry of the everyday, weaving together body and objects within a small, intimate space. Inspired by the research of juggler Michael Moschen, he diverts circus techniques onto all kinds of different volumes, offering countless possibilities for imaginative experimentation. From this visual exploration—where the inanimate comes to life—emerged the desire to tell a story.
Synopsis:
A solitary young man sees the objects of his daily life take on a strange turn. A mysterious presence seems to be playing tricks on him. He opens the window of his room and takes flight, setting off to discover the world—his inner worlds. This journey will hold some very curious encounters.
Inspired both by the tales of Peer Gynt and Peter Pan—those extravagant wanderers, a bit pretentious yet tender-hearted—AWRAQ aims to be an invitation to travel and to the quest for self. By bringing different identities into dialogue on stage, Hamza El Alouani explores, with humor and poetry, the figure of the foreigner—foreign to oneself as much as to others—as well as the fantasy of an “elsewhere.” Accompanied by circus artist and stage technician Joana Nicioli and by musician Maximin Begin, he carries the audience into a marvelous tale, a window into waking dreams.
